3 Ways to Mix and Match Fashion with Ming Wang

September 24 2017

Many of us dream of having a beautiful closet that has everything you would ever need.  From the shoes and accessories to the fashions.  As a little girl, I loved watching movies where the actress would open up her closet and pull out the perfect outfit for her occasion.  It was almost magical.  Fast forward to today and now I help women understand how they too can attain that magical moment for themselves.

We have many needs when it comes to our wardrobe. It would quickly get expensive and timely if we had to shop for each need individually.  It’s best to invest in quality, timeless pieces that you can mix and match and most of all – rely on from season to season.   I selected 3 focus styles and dressed them 3 different ways.  Casual, Career and Night Out.  I always try to keep each style simple, timeless and comfortable as you can see from each look below.

Little Black Dress – Casual, when I’m dressing casual the first thing I must also be is comfortable.  When I think comfort, I think soft and flowy.  Pictured above, I took my dress by Ming Wang Knits and paired it with a creamy scarf-shawl that I picked up for less than $20 dollars.  One way to still feel put together even when dressing down is by wearing better basics that fit and flatter your body.  I did alter the dress around my bust and waist for a perfect fit.  (to shop necklace click here:  UIUnique Impressions)

Little black dress – Career,  pictured above I am wearing my sleeveless black dress by Ming Wang Knits. This dress is about 5 years old now and still going strong.  When I need to look put together in a pinch – this dress does the trick.  The fabric doesn’t wrinkle nor does it fade so it still looks as new as the first day I bought it!  My Ming Wang Knits “LBD” is one of my favorites because it’s machine washable.  (Need I say any more..)

Little black dress – Night Out, I love to buy clothing that is fun and trendy, but the reality is that by the time I actually get to wear it – it’s out of style.  So we live and we learn and now I purchase clothing that I can mix and match.  By adding a simple inexpensive jean jacket like this one, I was able to give my black dress a more casual style.  This is a perfect outfit to transition into fall.

Solid jacket – Casual, the most important job I have today is being a mother. However, this is one style that I am least excited to invest in. As it’s these fashion pieces that get the most wear and tear from my 3 little boys. I must wear flats as I may need to chase down a toddler at a moment’s notice.  I also like to stick to solid, cotton tees.  They are soft enough to snuggle my 11 month old as well as easy to layer and quickly dress up to run to my child’s school.  Above, you can see by adding a solid jacketI was able to give my “Mom uniform” a quick update.  This jacket by Ming Wang Knits is washable so if I have any accidents with my, baby it’s okay as I can toss it into the washer when I get home.  It’s also extremely soft and lightweight so my little one will be comfortable in my arms.

Solid jacket – Career, a jacket to impress with is worth investing in, especially when you can justify the cost by wearing it often.  This solid-  tan jacket by Ming Wang Knits has novelty to the stitch which makes it unique as well as easy to mix and match with other colors and prints.

Solid jacket – Night Out, pictured above, I matched a fun novelty skirt with my solid jacket.  By selecting a popular color you will find more options to mix and match with other bottoms and expand your looks with very little effort.

Black vest – Casual,  a vest can almost be treated like an accessory.  Above, you see I am wearing a black tunic and jeans with gold flats.  This look is already appropriate to wear out and about.  The black vest by Ming Wang Knits add an extra edge to my style not to mention warmth and comfort. Black vest – Career, if you have a business casual work environment, a vest is a great way to step up your looks when you are wanting a more professional style without having to wear a full suit.   Above, I am wearing a black tunic top to cover my arms and a white button down cotton tank with my black narrow leg pant – all designed by Ming Wang Knits.  By layering my tunic and white blouse it actually looks like my vest is a jacket which offers me another look for my wardrobe.

Black vest – Night Out, for a night out with my girlfriends I want to be comfortable, sexy and sophisticated. By showing a bit more skin, it allows me to look different from my day to day Mom or career style as seen in the last two images.  I added a fun gold belt for some extra midnight bling and my favorite tuxedo pants by Ming Wang Knits.  These pants are a little more on the trendy side so I rarely wear them to the office and save them for my  less traditional occasions.
